[Today’s K-pop] NewJeans' ‘Cookie’ music video surpasses 100 m views


NewJeans' music video for "Cookie" has joined the ranks of their other videos with over 100 million views on YouTube, making it the group's fifth to achieve this milestone. The New York Times hailed "Cookie" as the standout track from the group's debut EP, and it was recognized as one of the top 70 songs of 2022. Additionally, the single garnered 200 million streams on Spotify and the group is set to make appearances on music shows in Japan in August. Winner, under YG Entertainment, announced plans to commemorate their tenth debut anniversary with the release of exclusive merchandise and a pop-up cafe. They will also engage with fans through special content on their YouTube channel. The band, formed through a survival audition show, achieved early success with their debut album "2014 S/S" and has continued to thrive despite a member departure in 2016. D.O., also known as Doh Kyungsoo, is set to hold an encore concert in Seoul as part of his Asia tour in October. The tour, named "Bloom" after his third solo EP, has seen significant success, with "Blossom" topping iTunes' Top Albums chart in 36 regions. Meanwhile, former Gfriend member Yerin is gearing up for the release of her third solo EP, "Rewrite," in September, while the trio Viviz has expanded their international tour to include Japan following successful shows in Asia and the US.
