Yonsei University revokes master's degree of Cho Kuk's son

Yonsei University has revoked the master's degree of the son of a minor party leader, Cho Kuk, following a court ruling. The university made the decision to cancel the admission of Cho Won into its graduate school of political science and diplomacy in 2018, as well as his master's degree earned from the same school in 2021. This action was taken after the Supreme Court confirmed the conviction of former opposition lawmaker Choi Kang-wook for issuing a false internship certificate to Cho, leading to Choi's loss of parliamentary seat and a prison sentence of eight months, suspended for two years. The revocation of Cho Won's master's degree by Yonsei University was prompted by the confirmation of Choi Kang-wook's conviction for providing a false internship certificate to Cho. This decision followed the cancellation of Cho's admission into the university's graduate school of political science and diplomacy in 2018. These actions were taken in response to the court ruling and the subsequent legal consequences faced by Choi.
