AmCham reaffirms Korea-US partnership in Washington


The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea recently concluded a five-day business trip to Washington DC, emphasizing the importance of the economic partnership between Korea and the United States. The delegation, consisting of senior executives from prominent member companies like LG Energy Solution and Posco Holdings, engaged in meetings with US senators, representatives from 12 states, and officials from various US government organizations, including the White House National Economic Council and the Office of the Vice President. Discussions during the trip covered topics such as regional peace, strategic competition, supply chain resilience, and positioning Korea as a leading business hub in the Asia-Pacific region. Key highlights of the visit included interactions with notable figures like Rep. Andy Kim, officials from the US Department of State and Department of Defense, as well as discussions with lawmakers such as Sen. Todd Young and Rep. Ami Bera regarding bilateral economic and trade issues. The engagements underscored the continued importance of US-Korea relations, with a recognition of South Korea's increasing influence in the Asia Pacific region by American policymakers, irrespective of the election outcome. The AmCham delegation's activities aim to strengthen ties between the two countries and foster ongoing cooperation through their annual "Door Knock" programs.
