Daewoo E&C chairman seeks community support for Czech nuclear project

Daewoo Engineering & Construction Chairman Jung Won-ju, together with local officials and firefighters, participated in a ceremony in Namest nad Oslavou, Czech Republic, where the company announced a donation of 316 million won to the Trebic District. The donation will be used to purchase fire trucks for Namest nad Oslavou, a town near the site where Korean consortium won the bid to construct nuclear power plants. The Chairman expressed his interest in supporting the region, particularly after recent floods, and highlighted the importance of the new fire truck in enhancing emergency responses and ensuring residents' safety. The Korean consortium, which includes companies like Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and Daewoo E&C, secured the bid for the nuclear power plant construction in July. During meetings with local officials, Chairman Jung emphasized Daewoo E&C's extensive experience in overseas projects and commitment to completing the construction on schedule. He also stressed the importance of community support for the project's success. Following these engagements, Jung participated in economic delegation meetings with Czech political and business leaders to strengthen cooperation with local nuclear-related industries.
