Delta Air Lines to launch new Incheon-Salt Lake City route in June next year

Delta Air Lines is set to introduce a new route between Incheon and Salt Lake City in June next year, marking the only direct connection between Asia and the US city. The service is planned to operate seven times a week, although specific flight schedules and operating hours are yet to be finalized. During a recent press conference at Delta's headquarters in Atlanta, Joe Esposito, the airline's senior vice president of network planning, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming launch, highlighting the route's potential to cater to both tourists and passengers seeking seamless transfer connections across the US. Salt Lake City, known for its proximity to Utah's national parks and picturesque landscapes, is positioned as a key hub for Delta Air Lines alongside cities like Atlanta, Detroit, and Minneapolis. With a fleet of A350-900 aircraft boasting 275 seats, Delta aims to enhance its existing network from Incheon Airport, which currently offers 35 weekly flights and five daily flights. The addition of the Salt Lake City route in 2025 will bring the total number of weekly flights to 42 and daily flights to six, according to Incheon Airport. This new route will be the sole direct link between Asia and Salt Lake City, offering travelers access to the capital of Utah, renowned for its natural beauty, cultural events, and the presence of major IT companies in the Silicon Slopes region, hinting at potential growth in business passenger demand between the two regions.
