Egypt offers gateway for Korean businesses in emerging markets: ambassador

Egypt's Ambassador to Korea, Khaled Abdelrahman, emphasized the potential for collaboration between Egypt and South Korea in areas such as investment and tourism at The Korea Herald's Global Business Forum. Abdelrahman highlighted Egypt's favorable business environment for foreign investors and urged more Korean companies to explore opportunities in sectors like renewable energy and advanced manufacturing. He also noted the increasing number of Korean visitors to Egypt and announced plans to restore direct flights between Cairo and Seoul to further enhance cultural exchange. President Lee Kwang-hyung of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology discussed South Korea's AI strategies following Ambassador Abdelrahman's remarks. Lee emphasized the need for South Korea to prepare for the AI-driven future by redefining the relationship between humans and AI and investing in education that fosters creativity and innovation. Additionally, Professor Emeritus Kim Tae-yoo of Seoul National University addressed South Korea's declining birthrate as a critical issue, proposing a "double-cropping society" model to alleviate the burden on younger generations and combat the challenges posed by job concentration in Seoul.
