HD Hyundai, Hanwha push zero-emissions agenda at Gastech 2024


HD Hyundai and Hanwha Group are both gearing up for Gastech 2024, a major energy sector exhibition in Houston. The event, set to run from Tuesday to Sept. 20, will be attended by over 50,000 people and 800 companies, and will showcase the companies' environmentally friendly shipbuilding and energy technologies. HD Hyundai plans to showcase their advanced ship models, including next-generation liquefied natural gas carriers and carbon dioxide carriers, as well as their cloud-based digital twin technology and progress in ammonia-powered vessels. They will also receive certifications for new refueling vessels and debut their Onboard Carbon Capture and Storage retrofit system. Meanwhile, Hanwha Group, including its divisions Hanwha Ocean, Hanwha Engine, and Hanwha Power Systems, will present innovations such as the world's first ammonia gas turbine-powered LNG carrier, eco-friendly retrofit solutions, next-gen ships, and carbon reduction solutions like supercritical carbon dioxide power generation systems.
