K-water unveils digital innovations at Beijing forum


Korea Water Resources Corporation, known as K-water, recently showcased its cutting-edge "super gap" technologies and various innovations aimed at addressing water-related risks at the 3rd Asia International Water Week in Beijing. This event marked a significant milestone in K-water's efforts to establish itself as a leader in the global water technology market. During the six-day event, K-water, a state-run water management agency in Korea, organized a special session focusing on climate change and digital water management advancements, where it presented its advanced technologies. These included the digital twin water management platform, AI-powered water purification plants, and a smart water network management system, all of which were initially unveiled at the World Water Forum in May. Furthermore, K-water introduced seven new "global leading technologies" designed to tackle significant water-related challenges such as carbon neutrality, energy transition, sustainable water management, and support for advanced industries. These technologies encompass water heat, seawater desalination, ultrapure water, green hydrogen, tidal power, floating solar power, and groundwater storage dams. The company emphasized the crucial role these innovations play in addressing the escalating climate crisis and environmental issues. K-water's CEO, Yun Seog-dae, highlighted the growing opportunities in the climate tech market, citing projections that it could reach $9 trillion by 2030, along with the global water market potentially growing to 1,654 trillion won ($1.24 trillion) by 2029. He expressed K-water's commitment to leveraging their technologies to contribute to solving global water challenges and exploring new avenues for growth.
