NewJeans has few options after Ador rejects group's request to reinstate Min Hee-jin as CEO

K-pop agency Ador, a subsidiary of Hybe responsible for managing NewJeans, announced that they will not comply with the girl group's demand to reinstate former CEO Min Hee-jin. Ador stated that they are upholding Hybe's policy of separating management and production, but clarified that Min will retain her roles as an internal director and NewJeans' producer. Despite this, Ador declined Min's request to return as CEO, prompting her to issue a press release reiterating the importance of her reinstatement for the artists' success. With limited options available, NewJeans must decide between continuing under the new leadership of Ador's CEO Kim Ju-young, seeking legal recourse for contract violations against Hybe, or paying a significant penalty to terminate their contract. The group's strategic move to emphasize the restoration of Min Hee-jin's dual role may be a prelude to potential legal action, urging Hybe to address any breaches within a set deadline to avoid contract termination and possible damages according to industry regulations. Despite the financial challenges involved in contract termination, music critics suggest it may be the simplest solution if NewJeans remains steadfast in their demands for Min's reinstatement as CEO.
