SHINee Key turns into cyborg for 3rd EP ‘Pleasure Shop’

Key from the K-pop group SHINee dropped his third solo EP, "Pleasure Shop," which consists of six house tracks with the title track being "Pleasure Shop." In this album, Key explores the concept of a pleasure shop where he, portraying a cyborg, sells happiness to customers. However, he delves into a darker narrative by revealing that instead of selling happiness, he ends up taking it away from some customers, drawing inspiration from the impact of advancing technologies like AI. Key's creative process for the album involved incorporating AI technology in the music video to visually represent the themes he wanted to convey. While he considered using AI-generated images for the album cover, he ultimately decided against it, highlighting his cautious approach towards utilizing AI in his work. Additionally, Key emphasized the importance of protecting artists' rights in light of recent instances of AI-generated covers using K-pop artists' voices without authorization, underscoring the need for regulations in the industry.
