Taihan Cable & Solution CEO Song Jong-min recently celebrated the completion of Kuwait's inaugural fiber optic cable factory, marking a significant step towards localizing production and capitalizing on the escalating demand for 5G network infrastructure in the Middle East. The 5,000-square-meter facility, established as a joint venture with Kuwaiti company Rank, boasts state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing capabilities and is set to commence full-scale operations by the end of the month. The grand opening event was attended by Kuwaiti government officials, South Korean Ambassador to Kuwait Park Jong-seok, and key Taihan executives, signaling the strategic importance of the new plant in meeting the burgeoning needs of Kuwait and neighboring Gulf Cooperation Council nations. With the global demand for fiber optic cables on the rise due to the expansion of 5G technology, Taihan's latest venture in Kuwait positions the company to cater to the country's growing requirements, driven by the New Kuwait 2035 development plan. CEO Song emphasized the facility's role in strengthening Taihan's presence in the Middle East and meeting the surging global demand for fiber optic cables. Following the successful launch, Taihan executives are set to visit Saudi Arabia to assess ongoing projects, aligning with the company's broader strategy to expand its footprint in the region.
