[Today’s K-pop] Blackpink’s Rose cinches deal with Atlantic Records

Rose from Blackpink has recently signed with Atlantic Records for her upcoming solo music, as confirmed by her agency, The Black Label. The Warner Music subsidiary, known for artists such as Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran, welcomed Rose with a grand gesture of a large bouquet of red roses along with a note expressing their excitement to have her join the family. Her solo single "R" was released in March 2021 and achieved remarkable success, becoming the second-highest-selling album for a K-pop female soloist in one day and earning a spot on the Billboard Hot 100. On the other hand, BTS's Jungkook received platinum certification in Japan for his solo single "Seven (feat. Latto) - Explicit Ver." This marks his third platinum certification for streaming, following previous successes with other songs. His album "Golden" made history as the first album by an Asian singer to have multiple songs surpass 900 million streams on Spotify. With his track "Seven" reaching the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and breaking streaming records on platforms like Spotify, Jungkook continues to solidify his status as a successful solo artist.
