[Today’s K-pop] Seventeen’s Jeonghan to enlist late this month

Jeonghan of Seventeen is set to start his mandatory military service on September 26, making him the first member of the group to enlist. Due to an ankle surgery he had about nine months ago, he will serve as an alternative social agent. Despite being one of the oldest members at the age of 29, he will miss out on promoting the band's 12th EP and the international tour, although he will still appear in the music video for the main track, which was filmed in advance. Meanwhile, the rest of the band, including Jeonghan, recently departed for a fan sign event in Beijing. In other K-pop news, Jin of BTS achieved 500 million plays on Spotify for his solo song "The Astronaut," marking his first solo track to reach this milestone. V also reached a milestone with his song "Love Me Again," a prerelease from his solo album "Layover." Additionally, SHINee's Key is set to perform all the songs from his upcoming third solo EP at his encore concert in Seoul, while Super Junior subunit D&E will release their sixth EP "Inevitable" on September 25. This comes as the band continues their Asia tour, "Super Show Spinoff: Halftime."
