Painter Hwang In-ran has unveiled her solo exhibition “Abyss at Noon: Beatrice of Silence.” The new paintings feature meticulous brush strokes and repetitive, layered lines to convey the artist’s solitude and silence.
Hwang's acrylic paintings at the exhibition are based on her meditative imagery, some of which depict flowers, birds, and a woman. The exhibition opened on October 24 and will run through November 28 at the Art Cube 2R2 in Gangnam-gu, southern Seoul.
The exhibition will also showcase the artist’s initial attempt to expand her art into the NFT realm, including videos and moving images. “These diverse approaches aim to break down the barriers surrounding art, allowing visitors to enjoy the works comfortably,” the artist stated.
A significant portion of the proceeds from artwork sales will be donated to the Soru Foundation to support solar power installations and household aid projects in Zimbabwe. The Art Cube 2R2 gallery is operated by an online non-fungible token art trading platform.
“We are delighted to contribute to meaningful social causes through this exhibition. We plan to continue collaborating with artists who share these values, striving for cultural fusion and social contribution through art content,” said the CEO of the gallery.
The gallery has collaborated with an Italian wine importer for the exhibition to create special edition wines that feature the artist's paintings.

전시는 또한 작가가 NFT 영역으로 예술을 확장하려는 초기 시도를 포함하며, 비디오와 움직이는 이미지도 선보일 예정이다. 황 작가는 “이러한 다양한 접근 방식은 예술에 대한 장벽을 허물고 관람객들이 작품을 편안하게 즐길 수 있도록 하는 데 목적이 있다”고 밝혔다.
작품 판매 수익의 상당 부분은 한국의 소루 재단에 기부되어 짐바브웨의 태양광 설치 및 가정 지원 프로젝트를 지원할 예정이다. 아트 큐브 2R2 갤러리는 온라인 비가역적 토큰 미술 거래 플랫폼인 아트토큰에 의해 운영된다.
홍지숙 아트 큐브 2R2 대표는 “이번 전시를 통해 의미 있는 사회적 원인에 기여하게 되어 기쁘다. 이러한 가치를 공유하는 예술가들과의 협력을 계속 추진하여 문화 융합과 사회적 기여를 위한 예술 콘텐츠를 열심히 만들겠다”고 말했다.
갤러리는 전시를 위해 이탈리아 와인 수입업체 BMS International과 협력하여 작가의 그림이 담긴 특별 에디션 와인을 제작했다고 전했다.
