BTS’s V and RM celebrate Han Kang’s Nobel Prize in literature win

On Thursday, BTS members RM and V took to social media to celebrate South Korean novelist Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature win, sharing their excitement and congratulations. RM expressed his joy with heart and crying emojis, while V recalled reading Han's work "Human Acts" during his military service, emphasizing his admiration for the author. RM has frequently recommended Han's books, including "Human Acts" and "The Vegetarian," showcasing his passion for literature. Han Kang's achievement marks a significant milestone as she becomes the first Asian female author to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Swedish Academy praised her "intense poetic prose" that addresses historical traumas and illustrates the fragility of human life. This win is Korea's second Nobel Prize, following the Peace Prize awarded to late President Kim Dae-jung in 2000, and the first for an Asian author since China's Mo Yan in 2012. Currently, BTS members are fulfilling their mandatory military duties, with J-Hope set to complete his service soon.
