NewJeans’ Hanni to attend National Assembly audit as witness

Hanni, a member of the K-pop group NewJeans, announced her intention to attend the National Assembly audit on workplace bullying and ostracism as a reference witness on October 15. She shared her decision on the fan communication app "Phoning," stating that she is doing this for herself, her fellow members, and their fans. Hanni mentioned that neither her manager nor her agency, Ador, is aware of her decision, but after careful consideration, she believes it is the right course of action. This follows her claims during a YouTube live broadcast on September 11, where she alleged that a manager from another Hybe subsidiary instructed their band to ignore her, leading her to feel ostracized. In a related development, the fan group "Team Bunnies" filed a complaint against Ador's CEO Kim Ju-young and Deputy CEO Lee Do-kyung at the Yongsan Police Station, accusing them of neglecting their duties and obstructing NewJeans' activities. They claimed that the executives failed to prevent interference with the group's work, which has caused significant harm. The complaint also included allegations against Hybe's public relations officials for violating privacy laws. Tensions within the agency have been heightened since the removal of former CEO Min Hee-jin in August, with NewJeans demanding her reinstatement, a request that Hybe has rejected.
