Yoon, ruling party chief to meet one-on-one next week

President Yoon Suk Yeol and People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon are scheduled to meet one-on-one early next week to discuss pressing issues, particularly allegations surrounding first lady Kim Keon Hee. This meeting, which will take place after Wednesday's by-elections, aims to address various political matters, as confirmed by multiple officials within the ruling bloc. Han had previously sought a private discussion last month, but it did not occur. Han has emphasized the importance of resolving controversies linked to the first lady, including accusations of stock manipulation, acceptance of a luxury handbag, and her alleged interference in candidate nominations for the upcoming April elections. Recently, he suggested a reshuffle within the presidential office to alleviate public concerns and urged the prosecution to provide a transparent resolution regarding the stock manipulation investigation. Despite being seen as a close ally of Yoon, their relationship has strained due to differing views on handling these controversies and other sensitive governmental issues.
