Yoon warns N. Korea will face end of regime if it uses nuclear weapons


President Yoon Suk Yeol warned that if North Korea dares to use nuclear weapons, it will signal the end of its regime, emphasizing a strong and resolute response from the South Korea-US alliance. Speaking at the 76th Armed Forces Day event, Yoon criticized North Korea for escalating its nuclear threats and provocations, including recent actions like revealing its uranium enrichment facility. He stated that South Korea's military stands prepared to retaliate decisively against any provocations from the North, highlighting the alliance's robust combat capabilities. Yoon condemned Pyongyang for its aggressive behavior towards South Korea and its people, urging the Kim Jong-un regime to abandon the false belief that nuclear weapons ensure security. Emphasizing the importance of a strong military and alliance cooperation with the US and Japan, Yoon stressed the need to focus on building a powerful defense against North Korea's nuclear and missile threats. The event showcased the establishment of the Strategic Command, aiming to integrate South Korea's advanced military capabilities with US extended deterrence to counter North Korean threats effectively.
