Yoon warns North Korea against nuclear attack attempt

President Yoon Suk Yeol issued a stern warning to North Korea during the Armed Forces Day ceremony, stating that any nuclear attack from the Kim Jong-un regime would result in its destruction. The ceremony, which showcased powerful weapons aimed at North Korea, emphasized the readiness of South Korea and its alliance with the US to respond decisively to any such threat. This warning came amidst North Korea's public display of its leader's visit to a secret uranium enrichment site, seen as a strategic move linked to the US presidential election. The event marked the first time in 34 years that Armed Forces Day was celebrated as a state holiday, recognizing the contributions of military personnel. The parade featured an array of military hardware, including the Hyunmoo-5 ballistic missile, highlighting the strong security commitment between South Korea and the US. President Yoon emphasized the importance of enhancing strength to achieve peace and criticized North Korea for its provocative actions and lack of regard for its people's well-being. Additionally, South Korea established a new Strategic Command dedicated to deterring and countering North Korea's nuclear and weapons of mass destruction capabilities, underscoring its commitment to safeguarding national security.
