The office of the President has vowed to pursue major reform agenda items following the ruling party's victories in crucial by-elections held in traditional stronghold constituencies.
The ruling party secured wins in Busan's Geumjeong District and Incheon's Ganghwa County during the by-elections, which are seen as an effort to recover from declining approval ratings for both the President and the party after a significant defeat in the recent parliamentary elections.
Meanwhile, the main opposition party won two administrative seats in Yeonggwang and Gokseong counties in South Jeolla Province, and a left-leaning professor was elected as the education chief of Seoul.
A presidential official stated, "Even if there are challenges, we will unwaveringly push forward with the four major reforms, including healthcare reform and tackling the low birth rate." The official emphasized the commitment to address shortcomings by listening to the people's will and making necessary adjustments.
The electoral success in the ruling party's traditional areas is viewed as a positive development for the party leader, who has previously expressed disagreements with the President on key issues, including those related to the first lady.
Earlier, the party leader reiterated calls for the first lady to withdraw from public engagements and advocated for a reshuffle of the presidential office to remove individuals perceived to have undue influence on state affairs.

관계자는 또한 "우리는 민심을 경청하고 필요한 변화를 통해 부족한 부분을 보완하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
