Boy band Stray Kids has achieved a significant milestone in the US music market, with album sales surpassing one million copies in 2024.
According to JYP Entertainment, Stray Kids’ cumulative physical and digital album sales in the US have exceeded one million copies this year, marking the first time a K-pop artist has reached this milestone in 2024.
The group's ninth mini album, "ATE," released in July, has sold over 500,000 copies as of September 30, making it the best-selling K-pop album in the US this year. In the broader sales landscape across all genres, "ATE" ranks fourth, following albums by Taylor Swift, Travis Scott, and Billie Eilish.
Stray Kids also achieved a notable feat by reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with "ATE," marking their fifth consecutive album to top this chart since the release of their sixth mini album "Oddinary" in 2022. This includes previous albums "Maxident," "5-STAR," and "Rock-Star."
Currently, Stray Kids are on their world tour titled "dominATE," which began in August. The group is scheduled to perform in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on Sunday, followed by shows in Tokyo on November 14, 16, and 17, Manila on November 23, and Macao on November 29 and 30. They also plan to expand their tour to include Latin America, North America, and Europe.
