Choa, a former member of the K-pop girl group Crayon Pop, provided an update on her health during the Lunar New Year holiday as she continues to battle cancer.
In a social media post, she expressed her mixed emotions, stating, "I usually laugh, chat and go about my days as usual, but sometimes, when I face moments that are not the same as before, I find it difficult." Choa reflected on her struggles and noted her longing for past routines, mentioning that she misses sharing drinks with her husband.
During the festive season, she highlighted her sense of loss, saying, "I want to enjoy a drink with everyone. I miss the things that once felt so natural." Choa also shared her disbelief regarding her cancer diagnosis, admitting that confronting her reality can be overwhelming, but she finds solace in recognizing the value of her current life.
Looking to the future, Choa expressed hope for her recovery, stating her dream to be cancer-free in five years and to enjoy a quiet moment with her husband after their children are asleep. "It’s already been almost two years, so the day of my full recovery will come soon, won’t it?" she remarked.
Choa debuted with Crayon Pop in 2012 and achieved significant popularity. She married a businessman in 2021 and disclosed her cancer diagnosis in October 2023, receiving widespread support from her fans.

"최근 힘든 시간을 겪었다. 예전에는 남편과 함께 술을 나눠 마시며 힘든 마음을 털어내곤 했지만, 지금은 그럴 수 없어 그게 정말 그립다"고 덧붙였다.
초아는 또한 명절 시즌에 대해 성찰했다. "가족과 친구들이 모이는 이런 축제 같은 날에 모두와 함께 술 한 잔 즐기고 싶다. 예전에는 자연스러웠던 것들이 그립다"고 말했다.
그녀는 "아직 내가 암 진단을 받았다는 사실을 완전히 믿지 못한다. 한때 무시하려 했던 현실을 직면하게 되면 가끔 내가 간신히 쌓아온 결심이 무너지는 것 같은 기분이 든다. 하지만 내가 지금 살고 있는 삶은 누군가가 필사적으로 바라는 삶일 수 있다는 것을 떠올리며 다시 감사함을 느낀다"고 밝혔다.
앞으로의 희망도 나눴다. "요즘 제가 바라보는 5년 후의 꿈은 암에서 완치되어 아이들이 잠든 후 남편과 함께 술을 즐기는 것이다. 전투와 같은 삶을 살고 있다. 거의 2년이 지났으니 완치의 날이 곧 오겠죠?"라고 강조했다.
초아는 2012년 크레용팝으로 데뷔하여 널리 알려지게 되었고, 2021년에는 6살 연상의 사업가와 결혼했다. 2023년 10월에는 자궁 경부암 투병 사실을 공개하며 팬들로부터 많은 응원을 받았다.
