The embassy communicated its concerns to the South Korean government, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. The man, identified by the surname Ahn, was arrested by police after he attempted to rush through the embassy's gate while wearing a Captain America costume and reportedly threatened to launch a "terror attack."
Following his arrest, Ahn posted on social media, stating that his intention was to convey "anti-China sentiment" to the embassy. The embassy noted that Korean police are currently investigating the incident and will await the findings.
Earlier in the week, Ahn had also caused a disturbance at the National Human Rights Commission of Korea's headquarters in Seoul. The commission had recently adopted a controversial recommendation to ensure Yoon's right to defense during his ongoing impeachment trial at the Constitutional Court.
