The president of the Korea Football Association (KFA), Chung Mong-gyu, received congratulations from the leaders of international and Asian football governing bodies following his recent reelection. Chung was reelected for a fourth consecutive term on February 26 in Seoul, securing a significant victory.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino and AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa each sent letters of support to Chung on February 28. Infantino expressed his "warmest greetings and sincerest congratulations," commending Chung for his contributions to the sport in Korea and wishing him success in his new term.
In his letter, Infantino acknowledged Chung's efforts in promoting football values in Korea and expressed eagerness to collaborate for the growth of the sport in the country.
AFC President Shaikh Salman also congratulated Chung, emphasizing the trust the Korean football community has in him. He expressed support for Chung's initiatives and looked forward to working together to enhance football in Asia.
Chung received 156 votes out of 183 in the election, defeating former national team coach Huh Jung-moo, who garnered 15 votes, and former commentator Shin Moon-sun, who received 11 votes. One vote was deemed invalid.

정 회장은 수요일 183명 중 156표를 얻어 두 명의 경쟁 후보인 전 한국 남자 국가대표팀 감독 허정무(15표) 및 전 TV 해설가 신문선(11표)을 손쉽게 이겼다. KFA에 따르면 유효하지 않은 표는 하나 있었다.
