Foreigners entering Korea can now complete their arrival card online up to three days in advance, starting Monday, as announced by the justice ministry.
The new electronic arrival form, known as the e-Arrival card, aims to reduce screening times and alleviate congestion at airports, which is expected to enhance the country's appeal to tourists.
Previously, short-term visitors, including tourists, were required to manually fill out paper arrival cards upon arrival at the airport.
To avoid confusion, the ministry will continue to offer the paper-based system alongside the new electronic option until the end of the year.

법무부에 따르면, 외국인은 월요일부터 한국에 도착하기 전 최대 3일간 온라인으로 입국 카드를 작성할 수 있다.
새롭게 도입된 전자 입국 양식인 e-도착 카드(e-Arrival card)는 검역 시간을 단축하고 공항 혼잡을 완화할 것으로 예상되며, 이를 통해 더 많은 관광객 유치를 도울 것이라고 밝혔다.
이전에는 관광을 포함한 단기 방문을 위해 한국에 들어오는 외국인은 공항에서 수기로 입국 카드를 작성해야 했다.
법무부는 혼란을 피하기 위해 새 전자 시스템과 함께 연말까지 종이 기반 시스템을 유지할 계획이다.
