Jin Eun-sook, executive vice president and head of Hyundai Motor’s ICT innovation division, will become the first woman internal director at the automaker, marking a significant step towards enhancing gender diversity on the company’s board.
Jin is recognized as an IT expert with a substantial career in the technology sector. Prior to her tenure at Hyundai Motor, which began in 2021, she served as the chief technology officer at NHN, overseeing the company's global tech operations.
Her appointment is expected to be approved at the upcoming shareholders’ meeting scheduled for March 20. Hyundai Motor has expressed confidence in her capabilities, highlighting her extensive experience in the ICT industry.
An official from Hyundai stated, “Jin has diverse experiences and strong expertise in the ICT industry, so we expect her to contribute to enhancing our competitiveness as a new internal director and strengthening gender diversity across our board.”
Jin is anticipated to play a crucial role in accelerating the company’s transition to becoming a software-defined vehicle manufacturer.
She holds a degree in statistics from Seoul National University and has built her career with a focus on data processing, cloud, and IT services. Hyundai Motor recognized her potential and recruited her in December 2021 due to her established track record in the tech industry.
Since joining the company, Jin has concentrated on driving innovation in IT and software infrastructure, while also fostering a developer-focused corporate culture in the context of smart mobility.

그녀는 현대자동차가 지속적으로 소프트웨어 정의 차량 제조업체로의 전환을 가속화하는 데 도움을 줄 것으로 예상되고 있다.
진 부사장은 서울대학교에서 통계학을 전공했으며, 이후 데이터 처리, 클라우드 및 IT 서비스에 중점을 두고 경력을 쌓았다. 현대자동차는 그녀의 검증된 실적을 인정하여 2021년 12월에 스카우트했다.
그녀는 현대자동차에 합류한 이후 IT 및 소프트웨어 인프라 혁신을 선도하는 데 집중하고 있으며, 스마트 모빌리티 시대에 개발자 지향의 기업 문화를 구축하는 데도 헌신하고 있다.
