Incheon United has announced the acquisition of former Premier League winger Modou Barrow as they seek immediate promotion after being relegated to the K League 2.
The 32-year-old Gambian international previously played for Swansea City in the English Premier League from 2014 to 2017 and had loan spells with several clubs in the English Football Championship.
Incheon United was relegated from K League 1 to K League 2 after finishing last among twelve teams in the top league last season, marking their first appearance in the second division.
This marks Barrow's second stint in the K League, having played for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors from 2020 to 2022, where he scored 28 goals and provided 17 assists in 90 matches across all competitions. Under the name "Mo Barrow," he contributed to Jeonbuk's back-to-back league titles in 2020 and 2021, as well as the Korean FA Cup victories in 2020 and 2022.
After playing in Saudi Arabia and Turkey, Barrow has returned to Korea this year.
He joins a strong attacking lineup at Incheon, which includes 2024 K League 1 scoring champion Stefan Mugosa and Gerso Fernandes, who scored seven goals last season.
Barrow is expected to join Incheon for the second phase of their offseason training on Tuesday, with the K League 2 season set to begin on February 22.

32세의 감비아 국가대표는 2014년부터 2017년까지 잉글랜드 최상위 리그 스완지 시티에서 3시즌을 보냈으며, 2부 리그에서 네 개의 클럽에 임대되기도 했다.
인천 유나이티드는 지난 시즌 K리그 1에서 최하위를 기록하고 K리그 2로 강등되어 올해 2부 리그에서 첫 경기를 치르게 된다.
이번이 바로우의 K리그에서 두 번째 활동이다. 그는 2020년부터 2022년까지 K리그 1의 전북 현대 모터스에서 뛰었으며, 모든 대회에서 90경기 동안 28골과 17어시스트를 기록했다. 바로우는 "모 바로우"로 등록되어 2020년과 2021년에 전북이 리그 타이틀을 연속으로 우승하고 2020년과 2022년에는 한국 FA컵에서 우승하는 데 기여했다.
바로우는 사우디아라비아와 터키에서 뛴 후 올해 한국으로 돌아왔다.
바로우는 15골을 기록한 2024 K리그 1 득점왕 스테판 무고사와 지난해 7골을 기록한 제르소 페르난데스와 함께 K리그 2에서 가장 강력한 공격진을 구성할 예정이다.
바로우는 화요일 인천의 오프시즌 훈련 2단계에 합류할 예정이다. K리그 2 시즌은 2월 22일에 시작된다.
