The 16-year-old secured first place at the 2025 Prix de Lausanne, held at the Beaulieu Theatre in Lausanne on February 8, according to the competition's official website.
This victory marks a significant milestone as it is the first time a male Korean dancer has won the competition's top award. The first Korean to receive an award at the competition was famed ballerina Kang Sue-jin, who won in 1985.
The Prix de Lausanne is recognized as one of the most prestigious ballet competitions globally, open to participants aged 15 to 18.
