The older brother of the late actress and singer Sulli has publicly demanded a clear statement from actor Kim Soo-hyun and director Lee Sa-rang regarding their involvement in the 2017 film “Real.”
On Friday, Choi, Sulli’s brother, shared a screenshot of a news article on social media, urging Kim Soo-hyun to respond with the answers he seeks, rather than what he would prefer to say. Choi expressed feelings of grief, noting that it has been six years since his sister's passing, and emphasized his ongoing pain regarding her death.
Choi's comments followed a statement released by Sports Kyunghyang, where he expressed gratitude for the support he has received but also addressed the recent death of actress Kim Sae-ron, extending his condolences to her family.
In his statements, Choi raised specific questions about a bed scene filmed during “Real.” He indicated that he has heard claims of a body double being present on set, despite earlier reports that the double could not attend due to illness. He called upon Kim Soo-hyun and Lee Sa-rang to clarify their positions regarding the filming of this scene, suggesting that it was not originally scripted in detail and questioning why Sulli was pressured to perform it herself.
Choi further mentioned testimonies from individuals at Sulli's funeral, suggesting that the body double was present during the filming. He urged for clarification on the circumstances surrounding the bed and nude scenes in the film, which Sulli's family claims contributed to her psychological distress.
“Real,” which starred Kim Soo-hyun and Sulli, included several high-intensity scenes featuring nudity. Director Lee Sa-rang is noted as a co-founder of the agency representing Kim Soo-hyun.
