Daesung, a member of K-pop group BIGBANG, is set to return to the music scene with a new solo release after more than a year since his last single.
The singer's first mini-album, titled "D's WAVE," is scheduled for release on April 8, as announced by his agency D-LABEL, which operates under RND Company.
On Monday, Daesung previewed the upcoming release with a promotional image shared on his official social media channels. The teaser provides a glimpse into the album's concept, showcasing him in an all-black outfit surrounded by multiple stand microphones.
Daesung launched his solo career in 2008 with the trot dance track "Look at Me, Gwisun," followed by "It's a Big Hit!" in 2009. His most recent release prior to the upcoming album, "Falling Slowly," was made available in March 2024, highlighting a more emotive vocal style.
In addition to his music career, Daesung has established himself as a content creator, with his YouTube channel (@ZIP_DS) gaining over 1.13 million subscribers in under a year. He was recently honored at the 2025 Korea First Brand Awards, winning the Male Celebrity YouTuber category.
Daesung has also reinforced his close connections with his BIGBANG bandmates, who now perform as a trio. The group generated buzz with their performance at the 2024 MAMA Awards, showcasing their enduring friendship and strong stage presence.
He made a guest appearance at Taeyang's encore concert last month, igniting anticipation for his own solo concert scheduled for April.
