The chief state auditor welcomed the Constitutional Court's decision on Thursday to reject the National Assembly's impeachment motion against him.
Earlier in the day, the court dismissed the motion aimed at Choe Jae-hae, chair of the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI), which was based on allegations of his inadequate review of suspected irregularities related to the 2022 relocation of the presidential office and residence.
Following the court's ruling, Choe addressed reporters, stating his commitment to ensuring the BAI "functions properly so that the public does not have any concerns" upon his return to duties.
He emphasized that the agency will prioritize establishing discipline among public servants when asked about its future direction.
Choe had previously been impeached by the opposition-controlled National Assembly in December.

결정 직후 기자들과의 인터뷰에서 최 원장은 "대중이 걱정하지 않도록 감사원이 제대로 기능하도록 하겠다"고 말했습니다.
또한 그는 "공직자들 간의 규율을 확립하는 데 중점을 두고 감사원 운영에 임하겠다"고 덧붙였습니다.
최재해 원장은 지난 12월 야당 주도 국회에 의해 탄핵된 바 있습니다.
