Hyundai Steel, the second-largest steelmaker in Korea by sales, announced on Tuesday that it will end the suspension of its cold-rolled steel plant this week and will resume wage negotiations with its labor union.
The company plans to reopen its pickling line/tandem cold mill (PL/TCM) facility at the Dangjin integrated steel mill at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, as confirmed by a company spokesperson.
This facility is a crucial component of the integrated steel mill located in Dangjin, approximately 80 kilometers southwest of Seoul, and has been idle since February 24 due to a prolonged strike by unionized workers demanding wage increases.
Union members are expected to cease their collective action at 7 a.m. on Thursday and will resume their halted wage negotiations the following day, according to the spokesperson.

회사는 수요일 오전 7시에 당진 통합철강공장의 산세 공장(PL/TCM)을 재가동할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
이 시설은 서울에서 약 80킬로미터 남서쪽에 위치한 당진 통합철강공장의 핵심 시설로, 임금 인상을 요구하는 조합원들의 장기 파업으로 인해 2월 24일부터 가동이 중단되어 있었다.
회사 측에 따르면 노조원들은 목요일 오전 7시에 집단 행동을 중단하고 다음 날 재개되는 임금 협상에 참여할 것으로 예상된다.
