SK Telecom CEO Ryu Young-sang met with IonQ Executive Chair Peter Chapman on Thursday to discuss potential cooperation between the two companies. The meeting took place at SK Telecom's headquarters in Seoul and included senior officials from both companies, including Chief Financial Officer Thomas Kramer and Vice President of Sales and Strategic Partnerships Philip Farah from IonQ.
During the meeting, the companies explored collaborative opportunities in quantum business initiatives, following a recent strategic alliance agreement. They reaffirmed their mutual interest in areas such as quantum networking and quantum security, discussing ways to strengthen their cooperation in these fields.
"Cooperation with IonQ is an opportunity for SKT to expand its business area not only to quantum security but also to quantum computing," Ryu stated. He emphasized SK Telecom's commitment to continue investing and collaborating to lead the market in the future.
Additionally, SK Telecom and IonQ reviewed the possibility of expanding SK Telecom's existing quantum security business partnerships.
